Festivals and Events
Herefordshire is a county that delights in Festivals and Events. Borderlines Film Festival in March is the UK's only rural film festival with screenings, workshops and famous directors introducing their films. The Hereford Photography Festival in May/June is the UK's only annual photography festival with a mission to promote Hereford as a centre of excellence in photography.
Choral music is celebrated with the Three Choirs Festival, next held in Hereford in 2009, poetry at the Ledbury Poetry Festival, arts and crafts at the Contemporary Craft Fair in November and literature at the Guardian Hay Festival at the end of May. The market towns of Kington, Leominster, Ledbury have their Festivals, Bromyard's is a Gala as well as being host to the Folk Festival and Ross-on-Wye holds a Regatta on the river and ‘Ross Live' in August.
Food & Drink Festivals are very much part of the scene starting with the Shobden Food Festival in June and culminating in the autumn with harvest celebrations and, on three consecutive October weekends, the Big Apple and the Cidermaking Festival finishing with the Flavours of Herefordshire Food Festival on 25th and 26th October, 2008.
